collectors of antiques, old leather trunk! Need help plz !!!!?

I found this black leather bound trunk HUGE. It is 2 feet wide by 3 feet long and 2 m deep. It has network of brass. Has no markings on it at all. I'm pretty sure that is quite old. Yes has what appears to be a stamp on the leather upper green and orange (but it rubbed off) I think he said BALI, but I'm not sure. I spoke with a woman who said it sounded more like a shipping label used for a long time. It has a firm lock eagle. Lock number is 8448. I'm trying to find out who did this or how old it is. I thought maybe I could get around the date of the lock. I'm desperate .. I have been searching for HOURS. Please help?
